  • Served as Doña Ana County Commissioner, including serving as Past Chair of the Doña Ana County Commission
  • Served as New Mexico State Senator for 16 years, including serving as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee

  • Served as the first Executive Director of the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA)
  • Served as General Manager, Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC), safeguarding and improving the border environment
  • Served as County Manager of Doña Ana County for nine years
  • Focused on budget, infrastructure, and public safety
  • Managed budgets in the hundreds of millions of dollars
